Revolution Pro Brow Pomade

Hey Beautiful Beginners I hope this post finds you well.

Today's post is a product review/first impressions of Revolution Pro Brow Pomade. I have always been a faithful follower of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow, so trying a new brow product scared the life out of me at first. I have been trying this product out for the last few weeks in preparation for this review. This product retails for £5 at Superdrug and at Revolution Beauty so naturally I had to seethe comparison for myself.

Just a bit of background on my usual routine and preferences. I have never tried a drugstore eyebrow product that I liked really enough to add it to my usual makeup rotation. I used to use the Freedom Eyebrow Pomade for casual days when nothing important was going on and it worked well enough but just not to the same standard I have come to expect. I always find myself gravitating towards pomade products when it comes to eyebrows as i enjoy the experience and overall finish much more than a pencil or a brow mascara.

I bought the shade Dark Brown and the Auburn just to try out the colours. I usually prefer a dark brow despite being ginger, I just feel it looks better personally but I thought I'd see how accurate the shade match on the Auburn shade is. I tried both but I felt the shade match on the Auburn was wrong and it was too warm toned for my preference so for this review I used the Dark Brown Shade.

Application

I used a Zoeva 322 Brow Line Brush to apply the product. I always do my eyebrow application in the same way (brush the hair upwards with a spoolie, draw the bottom brow line, spoolie the hairs so they face down, draw the top brow line, spoolie brow hairs back into place and fill the brow, I would usually then spoolie the front to get rid of excess product and make a little fade and then apply a brow gel. For the purpose of this review I haven't being using the brow gel to see the longevity of the product alone).

The product felt extremely dry when dipping my brush in to the container. I was concerned the product wouldn't glide on well enough to make a smooth line. I was wrong. The product went on really well and I was able to follow my usual application routine really well. I did think the product seemed a lot lighter than I expected for 'Dark Brown' which was the darkest shade stocked at my local Superdrug but having looked online I can see there are several shades darker than this.

Longevity

The wear on this product is really not good without other products to back it up. I tried to wear it to work one of the days with no brow gel and I had to reapply after only 3.5 hours. For my routine this just isn't long enough and I can't incorporate time to constantly patchwork my makeup during the day. When I tried the product with brow gel however I managed to get through an 8 hour shift with no need of reapplication. I don't find this to be too much of a problem, as I mentioned I usually use a brow gel anyway (Zoeva Graphic Brow Fix) I had wanted to test the product alone in the interest of getting a fair review.

 Overall

I definitely think this product is great value for money, £5 is a brilliant price even at the drugstore. I think the product is very usable and could easily be used by someone with little to no experience in this area with a small amount of guidance. I don't see it replacing my all time favourite ABH Dipbrow, but it could be a very good dupe for those on a  tight budget and I will definitely buy again for casual use.I have added a few photos below to show other times I used this product so you can see the results I had on a few different occasions.
