Life and Mindset Update

Hello beginners and welcome back to your regularly scheduled nonsense by yours truly.

So, something a little different today and hopefully I don't bore you all too much with this none makeup/beauty related post. I will be back to chatting about that kind of thing next week. As of right now, its Friday night and I would like to do a little post to talk about mental health and do a little check in.

Most of you may not know this, but I've always struggled with my mental health and trying to balance a healthy and positive mindset with the way I actually feel inside my head.

Life Update

Life has been boring, slow and I can't lie somewhat lonely. I just moved back to my hometown. I think there is something about moving back home that seems like a wonderful idea, that is until you have to put the idea into practice and realise all the reasons you left haven't changed.

I have moved closer to family which is great because seeing them more has had a brilliant effect on my mental health. However, this move has both given and taken when it comes to mental health. I have also moved away from my friends which has been hard to say the least.

As someone who has always used friendship as a comfort blanket through hard times, I received hard news last week and the first thing I wanted to do was crawl inside a blanket and watch Disney movies with my best friend. Unfortunately she now lives 52.2 miles away and I just don't have the capability to get there right now.

On a more positive note, I have got a new job I think I will love, I have joined a local gym and I am hoping to sign up to Slimming World and do my first Park Run this weekend. You know what they say, healthy body = healthy mind. Well, that's how I'm hoping this will work. At the very least, shifting a few pounds will be good for my confidence.

Mindset

So as you can see, my mindset hasn't been at a high point right now. I struggle to keep myself positive when I feel that life isn't heading in the direction I had hoped for.

I have been making a conscious effort to do an hours worth of activities per day that are things I find improve my mindset and outlook. These things for me are; swimming, colouring, jigsaws, listening to calming music, watching Bob Ross videos, blogging and singing ( I'm awful but it makes me feel better).

I have also been trying to write out a to do list each morning of little jobs that need doing to try and keep myself busy so my mind doesn't have time to dwell in ways I don't like.

The most important thing I like to remind myself every day is:

Things to consider:

Also something I saw on Pinterest that I felt really summed up my feelings about what I want from life:

That's all the rambling I have in me for today. Make sure to take care of yourselves and let me know if any of this helped you or if you'd rather I stuck to the beauty posts.
